Future Packaging goes exclusive

AFTER much anticipation Future Packaging is happy to announce that it has secured the sole distributorship in South Africa for Alpha-Pack, China. Alpha-Pack is a leading specialist in high-speed sealing equipment, shrink wrapping, form-fill-seal, carton erectors, labelling machines, and much more, which it provides for a host of industries in the FMCG, pharmaceutical and industrial packaging sectors. Both Future Packaging and Apha-Pack have established a solid association and partnership during the last year and Claus Hennings, MD of Future Packaging, is excited about the substantial growth opportunities that Future Packaging’s exclusive representation is already creating for the Alpha-Pack brand in South Africa. ‘We already have nine Alpha-Pack machines installed in South Africa, with very satisfied owners, so we’re very confident that our customer base will grow in the near future and beyond,’ states Claus.

Alpha-Pack, established in 1991, designs and constructs over 98 diverse machine models at its factory in Shenzhen, China, and in 2009 distributed over 5,000 machines to a multitude of global customers. All Alpha-Pack equipment is CE compliant and installations are supported with a full back-up service, support and spare parts, available through its qualified distributors across the world.

As a relatively young company it’s enjoying significant growth, and it prides itself on listening to its distributors and continually improving its designs, quality and service levels based on their needs.

Core strength in the Alpha-Pack stable is its range of specialised high-speed automatic and manual shrink wrapping lines. Its popular and versatile APSS 5022 side-seal packing machine series produces fully enclosed packs with seals on three sides. With no product length limit, it can be fed manually or automatically. The heated, constant-temperature sealing system can fasten all industry standard films including polyethylene (PE), polyolefin and PVC. Operation changeovers are quick and easy to achieve by turning hand-wheels without having to change product guides, thus increasing operational reliability.

The APSS range may also be customised with extra options such as a Kissing Belt (suitable for small, irregular products), Printing Film Photo Sensor, 1,5m in-feed conveyor and/or Automatic Product Pusher.

Alpha-Pack also produces top-quality semi-automatic L-type sealing and shrink lines, individual sealing models and a variety of specialised shrink tunnels, as well as sleeve-type shrinking wrappers.

The company also focuses on vertical form-fill-seal (VFFS) equipment for large pouches, sachets, twin and stick packs, horizontal form-fill-seal (HFFS) flow wrappers and rotary packing lines. In addition, labelling machines, robot pelletisers, over wrapping, capping and filling technology are manufactured in Shenzhen by Alpha-Pack.

Heading 3

Future Packaging is perfectly poised to grow the Alpha-Pack product range in South Africa. Established since 1992, it has developed into a well respected one-stop shop for packing machinery, consumables, tools, packaging films, label applicators, and more, for various sectors of the packaging industry. The company has also recently invested in a modern, fully operational demonstration facility at its head office in Honeydew, Gauteng.

‘The new demo room offers us the opportunity to invite our customers and prospective clients to experience our technology apabilities in real-time and also get to know Future Packaging better,’ describes Claus. ‘In addition, we have a very knowledgeable and committed sales department and a dedicated team of qualified technicians who can assist customers with their specific technical requirements and complete services and repairs quickly and efficiently.’

Product and skills training are a priority and all employees at Future Packaging are continually educated in-house. ‘We train all of our staff to go from good to great, that’s our philosophy!’ confirms Claus. Besides operations in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban, Future Packaging now has a sales and service office in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga, offering potential market opportunities in both the Lowveld region and neighbouring Moçambique.

Future Packaging is also realigning its business sectors into 7 core divisions and will soon be introducing a new, innovative technology for label printing to the South African printing industry.
